We recently covered an interesting mobile site called Heysan! over at mobile industry review. Heysan is a mobile instant messaging web app that lets you sign in to gtalk, AIM, ICQ, MSN etc over mobile. Here are some of the key stats:
- The average user spends over 5 hours a month on heysan
- 100 million page views a month
- 600,000 users
- Largest markets are the UK and the US (not developing markets where a lot of mobile messaging apps seem to be doing well)
You can get a taste of the growth Heysan is enjoying by looking at the compete.com data - bear in mind that most of their traffic is mobile web which compete.com wont pick up.
You can read the full low down over at Mobile Industry Review

Hey James - Bebo, myspace, facebook all used auto-pinging to grow virally - I actually admire heysan for making this kind of mechanism work for mobile.
